stampin chic challenge 'pink and black

Afternoon peeps! Hope you all remembered to put the clocks forward last night. I was so glad they had gone forward as Tyler climbed into our bed at what would have been 5.45 this morning! I managed to finish off my entry for the stampin chic challenge which this week was 'pink and black' - my favourite colours at the mo!
I used patterned papers from the 'big one' pack and stamped up the cake and sentiment from the stampin chic range. The stamped flowers are from an elzybells set which I coloured with promarkers.
Have a great day. x

Oh boy..

It's been an eventful, but long, week and I've had to focus on work and job searching so not been able to do much in the way of crafting; but on Wednesday I was commissioned to make a last minute baby boy card for a friend at work (baby was born 2 weeks early) which was needed for today! For some reason I really struggled with an idea but eventually - after much playing around - created this little number. It made my day when my friend said how much she loved it! My aim for this next week is to make at least one challenge card.

Materials
Papers: Doodlebug baby boy, yellow gingham and baby blue papers from stash; white hammered cardstock
Stamps: Doodlebug baby set
Embellishments: yellow ribbon from stash, sentiment cut from Doodlebug baby boy patterned paper, Papermania blue gemstones
Pens: Promakers, white gel pen, black fineliner pen

I hope you all have a great weekend. Happy crafting!
xx

Mother's Day Hedgy..

Helloo my crafty friends!
Sorry it's been a week since my last posting but have been busy applying for jobs since I found out I'll be jobless by June if I don't find something else soon. :o(
Well, most men will be crowding out Clinton Cards tomorrow trying to find a Mother's Day card for their mums (funny that lol) but not my boyfriend - why would he when his girlfriend is a cardmaking addict hehe! So, here is my creation (from him) lol.
Quite a simple design really, although still took me a bit of time to make for some reason.

Ingredients:
Inks: Whispers ink pad - black and lavender; versamagic chalk ink pad - pixie dust (used on flowers)
Stamps: Penny Black Hedgehog with flowers; CCSR - doodles; Doodlebug - rub on transfer sentiment
Embellishments: flower charm - ebay; black jewels - Papermania
Ribbons: Gingham black ribbon - local haberdashery
Shapes: Spellbinders Nestabilities - standard and scalloped circles
Pens: Promarkers - Rose Pink, Lilac, Lemon, Satin, Cinnamon, dusky pink, meadow green

Thanks for stopping by!
Love, Trix

Limited Supplies Challenge #1

Hope you're all fine and dandy. I not feeling so bad about my job situation as been told it's safe but I gotta go work in London which is a real trek from where I live - as well as costly. Grr!

Well, this week over at the stampin' chic blog the challenge is to make a card using only 1 - yes, just 1, patterned paper...sooo.. I decided to use a scalloped papermania card blank (black) and put the focus on some stamped flowers, buttons and a sentiment from the range and just 1 black and white piece of patterned paper from the 'big one' pack.

Materials
Inks: versamagic 'pixie dust', whispers 'black'
Card: bazzill bling 'pink', papermania 'black' scalloped card blank
stamps: flowers, buttons and sentiment - Papermania CCSR range
Pens: White gel pen

If any nice crafty peeps would like to leave a comment it'd be much appreciated! x

TFL.

What a few days it's been!

Evening all,

It's that dreaded Sunday night feeling! Tomorrow not gonna be great day in the office as found out on Friday that I'll be one of people to lose their job due to credit crunch. I should feel fortunate as at least I have 3 months notice.. still not good though hey. Hope you all are surviving the crunch; just wish it were over already....
I locked myself away in my own crafting world last night ( well, more like my crafting corner lol. If you saw it you'd know why I laugh) as I find it a great distraction when other things in life not going so well.
Right, well, as with most of us crafting girlies I find male cards really troublesome, but thanks to Clare Curd's new Signature Range male stamp set it's made the task that bit easier.. see what you think of this little creation.

Comments, good or bad, really welcomed!
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your week!

Stamping Chic Challenge #2

Well, tis almost the weekend again, hurrah! Feeling a bit pants this afternoon though as found out my boyfriend has to work nights tomorrow and Saturday which is no fun. Oh well, that means lots of time to sit and craft the those nights away so that's of some comfort.

I was very happy last night to read that Clare had left 2 lovely comments on my two stamping chic cards so felt inspired to sit and make another one last night using the this week's Friday Sketcher's Challenge layout.
I just love this stamp used on the card below. I tried something new with this one and am now hooked! what am I on about you may ask? Well, I bought new core' dinations card stock at the weekend. It's the 'Chocolate Box' collection which, if you dont already know, has a canvas texture and is chocolate coloured but hidden underneath the surface is another yummy colour which you can reveal by sanding (I used a nail file), tearing or antiquing or distressing the edges. I also love getting the colours of the background patterned papers onto the stamped image itself which I have been doing by stamping the image onto plain card and patterned paper, then cutting out the part of the image on the patterned paper eg.trousers or top and sticking onto the image on the plain card!

I used promarkers to colour in another piece of plain card then stamped a sentiment onto it and 3d mounted it onto the right hand side of the card.

Hope you like. Would welcome any comments or questions. Right, now I'm off to do some (yawn) ironing! Exciting Stuff hey!?

Stampin Chic Happy

Well, what an expensive weekend I've had. I attended Clare Curd's Signature Range party over on her blog on Saturday night which was fun but didn't win any goodies so on Sunday I went out and spent a small fortune on the new products - piccies to follow! As you can imagine I could'nt wait to get crafting. Here is my card entry for the CCSR Sketch Challenge (which can be found on the blog - just click on the blinkie to the right). Entries must be in by Friday though!

Ingredients:
CCSR 'Big One' paper pack, CCSR stamps -sentiments; flowers - CCSR stamps 'doodles'; image -CCSR stamps - 'Party'; buttons and ribbon - from stash; 3D sticky foam and sticky tape; pro-marker pens.
Now this card was a quick make for someone's 60th birthday. Looking at it now I wished I'd had time to add a bit more detail round the edge of the card as I think it's lacking just a little something, though not quite sure what..let me know what you think please people. Thanks muchly and have a great day x hugz, Trix x
