Stampin myself happy..

It seems I am posting less and less often, probably because I only like to post when I have some news or have a new crafty item/card to share with you all but just recently (due to stresses) I have lost my crafting mojo :o( . Been searching high and low for it but god only knows where I left it! lol. Does anyone else out there feel like this from time to time??
I have, however, managed to put together this little creation for the stampin chic colour challenge, which (blindingly obvious I know but) is turquoise and yellow this week. what do you think? Be honest!
I didn't realise how little 'yellow' featured in my craft stash tbh. I did manage to dig out some yellow coredinations cardstock and some yellow butterflies that I turned into charms and hung from the small loops in the ribbon (very fiddly!)

Materials:
Papers: CCSR Big One Pack, coredinations yellow card, white paper dotted with yellow pro-marker
Embellishments: handmade charms using jump rings from ebay, yellow paper butterflies from stash, anitas 3D glue, ribbon from stash
Stamps: CCSR sentiments, CCSR doodles

Oh, I almost forgot! Some good and inspirational news to share! Bee over at bee-crafty.blogspot.com really liked my use of her 'whimsical girl' design on my last card and decided to make my card/blog 'feature spot of the week'! I felt so priveleged!

I really hope everyone is looking forward to 3 days off work! I know I am.

Enjoy!!

Stampin Chic Sketch Challenge 3

Another week, another challenge!
It's been a funny old week thanks to the Bank Holiday weekend. I have lost track of the days lol!
My fridge has gradually emptied itself of Chocolate throughout the week, mainly thanks to Adam being off work and munching his way through about 6 eggs!

I treated myself to 3 new images which I bought and downloaded from http://www.bee-crafty.blogspot.com/ (gorgeous images and really reasonably priced). I also got myself a bigger guilotine and one of those 'staz on' ink pads this week as my current black ink pad is getting a tad worn out...I wonder why?! :o) I don't know if it's just because it's new but I am finding I have to be really careful not to ink up my stamps too much otherwise I get a really messy, overly inked image. Maybe I am just being too heavy handed??

Anyway, here is my entry for this weeks stampin chic challenge. I really liked working with the given sketch. I used one of my new downloaded images (whimsical girl) which I printed twice -one onto decent cardstock and then onto a piece of brown spotty paper from the CCSR Big One pack so I could paper piece the hat and the boots. I coloured the dress with my versamagic chalk inkpad to give a subtle effect. I finished the flowers off with some old paper planet glitter glue I had just to add a bit of sparkle!

Hope you like!

Stampin Chic 'Limited Supplies' Challenge #2

Happy Easter Peeps!
Well, this morning my fridge was half empty, but come midday look how full it was! lol. :O)

No, I am not that greedy, honestly, they are mainly Tyler and Adam's but 3 of the eggs are mine. I think it'll be chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next..month.

Anyway, back to this week's challenge over on the stampin' chic blog (see linky to the right). This week the challenge is to limited to one shape to use throughout the card. I decided on a rectange which I used for the shape of the card blank, image, length of ribbon and the insert design.
Brown and green is not my ultimate colour combo but it suited the Penny Black image I had. The spotty brown paper is from CCSR-Big One pack but I coloured some of the white spots in green and pink with promarkers.

Papers: Spotty brown paper -CCSR Big One Pack, Brown Card - Core'dinations Chocolate Collection, Green Card - Core'dinations, card blank made from card in stash
Stamps: Penny Black frog image - gift from DC member, flower stamp - elzybells.co.uk from the celebration sheep stamp set
Embellishments: PM flower punch, PM white flowers, PM pastel mini brads, ribbon - from stash.
Right, I must get back to job hunting now :o(.
Enjoy the rest of your long weekends!
Love, Trix
