Digi Delight!

Jeez, is it Saturday again already? This week seems to have flown by - not that I am complaining, don't get me wrong. I've a big project going on in the background and been a bit busier at work so maybe that's whiled away the days. Right, onto more fun, crafty matters people!

Be sure to hop over to the bee-crafty downloads blog here to see her fab new Halloween collection that she's been giving us sneak peeks of this week.

In addition, there's another fab challenge going down, sponsered this week by Cupcake Card Craft (click on the pic above to be taken to the website) , In my opinion, other than Pink Petticoat, this shop has the best selection of digi papers! Each design comes in loads of different colour shades so you're bound to find one to suit your project.

This is my DT project..........

Yes, I know its a wee bit early but I've made a 201o calender! It's a really simple, but effective design as you can either make a stand for it, add a magnet or even punch a hole at the top and hang from a picture hook if you wanted. I opted for the magnet on this occasion.

I simply printed off the 'candy spots' digi paper, stuck it to thick card and rounded the edges using an XCut tool. With a lot of help I have managed to digitally fill the image with the same paper using Photoshop.

~Materials~

Image~beecrafty downloads
Calender~Anita's (come in pack of 10)

Lace~HobbyCraft (although most haberdashery's will sell)

Butterflies~HobbyCraft

Letters~PM 3D Alphabet stickers - white

Tools~Nesties Scalloped and large circles sets, Fiskars 'threading water' border punch (fave of mine!!), 3D sticky foam pads, polychromo pencils blended with Sansador.

Well I hope you all have a great bank holiday weekend! I am seeing family on Sunday and then off to Diggaland in Kent with Adam and Tyler on Monday-think they'll enjoy it more than me though!

I can't wait to get my crafty mitts on as many as I can afford this month!! I am incouragable I know! ;O)

Oops, just realised the time! Been flittering between housework and bloghopping this evening and whiled the night away it seems. . time for some Zzzzzs tp boost my creativity cells me thinks. lol.

Plaid 'tastic'

Woops! I've been meaning to post this card on here since the weekend but got side-tracked!
It's my entry into the competition that Elizabeth of elzybells.co.uk is running until Thursday 20th August. To qualify you have to design a card (or other paper craft project for that matter) with 'plaid' featured somewhere on it. Now, I don't own many elzybell's stamps atm so felt a bit restricted, but nevertheless I am fairly pleased with the result and, although not winning material, she seemed to like it too so quite happy. :o)

Not sure what happened to the picture above showing the inside top half of the card. It looks almost pinky/purple coloured in the photo but it's actually just white card!
So many great challenges I want to enter this week but, like most of you, I only have enough time to enter 1. Only question is...which one? lol. I particularly like the sketch challenge at www.fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com.
~Materials~
Gingham ribbon~from stash
Charm and jump rings~here
Patterned paper~PM Stampin Chic Paper Pack
Image and sentiment~elzbybells here
Border punch~Fiskars 'threading water' punch
Flower (inside)~Magazine freebie
Silver candy dots (inside)~craftwork creations here
Right, I better log off as been hogging the laptop all night and the bf wants it for ebay!
Ta ra for now,,,

A little bit more...

Been out shopping with my big sis today. Decided to go to our nearest HobbyCraft store thinking they'd have all the bits I'd want but you know what? I came out with just a couple of ribbons which weren't even on my list!! Grr. So suprised and really really disappointed :o( Feel like a child at Christmas that didn't get the one toy they asked for! I thought they'd sell all the leading brands like Tim Holst, Woodware and Dovecraft but they don't.Their prices are sky high too. Take the Cuttlebug machine for example; they charge £98.99 for it. I got mine online from a craft shop up north for half that price! Oh well, I'll just have to make my orders online - boo.

Anyway, I digress - as you'll soon discover I often do!

This fortnight's challenge on bee crafty is to create a project that's with 'a little bit more' ie. a bit OTT in some respect. I found this quite challenging but after a couple of days thought I decided on a red, black and white colour scheme and to overload on circles and dots.. and here is the result.............

~Crafty Ingredients~
Black scalloped cardstock~PaperMania
Black dotty paper~PaperMania Stampin Chic Pack
Image~Bee Crafty 'Bunny and Flowers' here; Sentiment~PaperMania Stampin Chic set
Ribbon~from stash
Flowers~XCut retro flower punch
Tools~ Spellbinders nestabilities (large circles and scalloped circles), Cuttlebug, Swiss dots embossing folder

I hope you like this one folks. I actually like this one which makes a change lol!
Thanks for stopping by for a crafty look,

Blog award! :O) hehe

Today felt a bit strange. New hair do/colour and new job which seems ok but I'm working in a very old, small office so they don't have a cleaner; big deal I hear you say! Well, I am the only woman in the office and as you know, most men aren't bothered about cleanliness as much as we are so you can imagine it's in need of thorough clean. My job title should be PA/CA (cleaning assistant) lol.

Now, onto some crafty news..

Although I don't feel I deserve it (seeing as there are sooo many more talented crafters out there) my lovely blogging friend and fellow DT member over at bee crafty has nominated me for the Kreativ Blogger Award! How nice is that! Thanks Dei!!!

1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award
2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog
3. Link the person who nominated you for this award
4. Name seven things about yourself that people might find interesting
5. Nominate seven Kreative Bloggers
6. Post links to the seven blogs you nominate
7. Leave comments on all seven blogs letting them know you nominated them

Right, so here's my attempt at naming 7 interesting things about myself:

1. In 2007 I was on a 'Cash in the Attic' 1 hour special with my family
2. I am a neat freak and get a wee bit obsessed with being tidy
3. I go to the gym upto 6 times a week to keep myself fit and to diffuse the guilty feeling I get when eating yummy stuff ;O)
4. I love Thai food and cereal (not together!) and could eat it morning, noon and night!
5. In 2008 I took my Mini Cooper S round the 'Top Gear' track and now have an 'I am the Stig' sticker in my back window
6. Hmm..struggling now
7.Ok, I give up..sorry!

I'd now like to nominate the following talented bloggers for this same award:

Sorry for such a long posting! It wasn't intentional. I'll be posting a sneak peek of an OTT project for the next bee-crafty challenge tomorrow so make sure you pop back!!

'Monochroming it up for bee-crafty DT'

Hi my crafty friends,

I've only a 1 week left in my London job - HURRAH! Which means just 7 days to go until I get time to start crafting more again and entering more of the ever increasing number of fab new challenge blogs that I've found whilst blog hopping recently. One new one I've found this week is the re-launch of the basic grey challenges here. Oh, and there's fab blog candy to be had; my fave is the gorjuss girls give away here.

Right, now for this fortnight's DT project which is happening over at bee-crafty.blogspot.com. It's all about colouring this week. I was in the mood for a bit of monochrome and this is what I came up with....

Image:download from here
Papers: Doodlebug Flowers: Papermania

Colouring medium: polychromo pencils blended with sansador
Embellishments:charm and jump rings from beadsneeds on ebay, candy dots from diestodiefor.com
Thanks for taking the time to stop by!
